We are delighted to announce that Beacon Academy has officially achieved Healthy School Status!

The Healthy Schools approach focuses on improving both educational and health outcomes by evaluating and embedding good practice across four core themes:

  • PSHE Education
  • Healthy Eating
  • Physical Activity
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)

Following a full self-evaluation and the results of our student-led My Health, My School survey, we have demonstrated strong provision and a commitment to continuous improvement.

As part of our work towards this award, we also used grant funding to launch our breakfast club, providing selected students with a healthy start to their day and supporting their overall wellbeing and readiness to learn.

Ms Richardson, Head of Personal Development, commented:

"Completing the School Health Check has been a valuable and informative experience for Beacon Academy. It has helped us identify key areas to develop while also recognising the many strengths of our current provision, particularly in Personal Development. This feedback will be crucial as we plan for the year ahead."
