We look forward to welcoming you to our school open events, both at our main site for Years 7 - 11 and at our specialist Sixth Form Centre.

Whole School Open Day

Saturday 26 September 2026

Our interactive Whole School Open Day takes place at both our Beeches site and Sixth Form Centre. This popular event provides visitors with the chance to explore every aspect of life at Beacon Academy and discover how we support students to thrive within our supportive, challenging and inspiring environment.

Year 6 Open Event, 9:30am - 12:30pm

At our Beeches site, prospective Year 6 students and their families are invited to explore our facilities, try lots of fun activities and meet students, departmental staff, and members of our Senior Leadership Team.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to attend a presentation in Beeches Main Hall, led by our Headteacher Keith Slattery and key staff involved in supporting children as they make the transition from primary to secondary school.

No booking is required.

Sixth Form Open Event, 10:30am - 1:30pm

At our dedicated Sixth Form Centre on Green Lane, prospective Sixth Form students and their parents or carers are invited to explore our outstanding post-16 provision, meet subject leaders and learn more about the range of courses and pathways available.

No booking is required.

Sixth Form Taster Sessions for Year 11

Week commencing Monday 5 October 2026

Bookable taster sessions will give Year 11 students the opportunity to experience Sixth Form lessons, explore subjects of interest and gain a real insight into studying at Beacon Academy Sixth Form.

If you are interested in attending our Sixth Form Taster Sessions, please complete our Register Your Interest form and we will contact you when bookings become available.

Year 6 Open Morning Tours

Monday 28 September - Friday 2 October 2026

Following our Whole School Open Day, prospective Year 6 students and their families are invited to attend one of our bookable Open Morning Tours and experience Beacon Academy on a normal working day.

Led by our Student Ambassadors, these guided tours offer a valuable insight into daily life at Beacon Academy. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore our Beeches site, observing learning in lessons, meet key members of staff and discover more about the experiences and opportunities available to students from Year 7 onwards.

All tours begin with registration in Beeches Main Hall at 8:45am, with tours leaving promptly at 9:00am.

Following the tour, families will be invited to attend a Q&A session with members of the Senior Leadership Team, key staff and current students. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about life at Beacon Academy and ask any questions about the transition from primary to secondary school.

Booking is essential for all Open Morning Tours. Bookings are now live and places are limited.
