MARK Education Trust

About our trust

MARK Education Trust is a small multi-academy trust, responsible for three schools in East Sussex.

Our schools are “ambitious for excellence” and aim to benefit from working in partnership; forming a community of best practice and sharing expertise to improve outcomes for children and young people.

Beacon Academy (formerly Beacon Community College) converted to an Academy, Beacon Academy Community College Trust, on 1 April 2012.

In January 2022, Beacon Academy Community College Trust changed its name by special resolution to MARK Education Trust with a view to expanding the trust.

Uplands Academy (formerly Uplands Community College) in Wadhurst, converted to an Academy and joined MARK Education Trust on 1 September 2022.

As a trust, we are keen to remain in control of our destiny. Guided by our MARK Education Trust values, we are growing responsibly and with care so that our trust can meet the needs of and invest in our schools, as well as carefully considering what capacity we can give to others.

In September 2025, we welcomed Hailsham Academy (formerly Hailsham Community College) into the trust. As an all-through 2–19 school, Hailsham Academy strengthens our commitment to inclusive, high-quality education and further extends the opportunities available to children and young people across East Sussex.
