Beacon Academy Swimming Team June 25 2

Beacon Academy's Swimming Team were in action over the weekend at the English Schools' Championships. This is the national event for school swimmers, who compete for English Schools' titles and medals.

We took a strong team who swam brilliantly and did a superb job of representing the school on the big stage. We were definitely one of the teams with the most vocal support and, with this being our second trip to the championships, it was great to see some of the more experienced team members showing our new joiners the ropes.

The team swam some fast times, achieving lots of personal bests. We also left the championships with an English Schools' title for the second year: Bertie (Year 8) is this year's 200m Butterfly Champion in the 13-14 year age group and also won the silver medal in 200m Breaststroke.

Well done to:

  • Mia, Year 7
  • Finn, Year 7
  • Harrison, Year 7
  • Oliver, Year 8
  • Noah, Year 8
  • Bertie, Year 8
  • Luca, Year 11

A big thank you to Beacon Swimming Club for their support and also for scheduling the club championships around this weekend to enable the team to compete in both events.
