Year 11 Inspire Scholars visit St John’s College Oxford

On Tuesday 22 April, a group of 15 Year 11 students went to visit St John’s College at Oxford University as part of the Inspire Scholars programme.

After an early start, the students accompanied by Miss Golder and Mr Williams arrived in Oxford. Following an introduction to Oxford the students were lucky enough to take part in a workshop on writing successful application and improving interview skills.

The Inspire students were active participants showing their critical thinking skills and asking questions of both our guide and each other as they progressed through the workshops.

After a break for lunch the group undertook a tour of the campus followed by a Q&A session with current students. The session was so successful we over ran before making our way to the Natural History Museum for an afternoon tour. The students had an productive and insightful day with many considering their next steps following GCSEs and beyond.
