VE Day Commemorations
Today marks 80 years since the Victory in Europe (VE Day) when the Second World War came to an end in Europe.
This morning, our students took part in an interactive assembly led by History Teacher, Miss Keen, reflecting on the courage, sacrifice and solidarity that helped bring peace to Europe eight decades ago.
We are especially grateful to local historian, John Charman, for visiting our school last term to provide an insightful lecture and Q&A session for some of our Year 9 students, sharing his insights and the experiences of those living in Sussex during that historic time.
To continue the commemoration, Crowborough Town Council will host a community event this evening at Goldsmiths Recreation Ground in Crowborough from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. The event will feature military vehicles on display, live entertainment and refreshments available to purchase.
