Beacon Academy welcomes families to open events

Beacon Academy was delighted to welcome prospective students and their families to its recent autumn open events, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the Academy's welcoming atmosphere, meet staff and students, and learn more about life at the school.

The Academy’s Whole School Open Day, held on Saturday 26 September, invited families of prospective Year 7 students and those considering joining the Academy's Sixth Form. The events showcased the vibrant school community, with student performances, presentations and opportunities for families to explore the Academy and speak with staff. Visitors particularly appreciated the focus on supporting students' personal development and helping children make a successful transition to secondary school and to Sixth Form.

Visitors explored departments, met staff and students, and discovered the wide range of academic and enrichment opportunities available. The event generated a fantastic atmosphere throughout the school’s two sites, with families from across the local community enjoying the opportunity to see the school in action.

A particular highlight of the day was the contribution of Beacon Academy's student volunteers, who supported departments across the school and delivered engaging presentations about their experiences. Their enthusiasm, confidence and pride in their school helped provide visitors with an authentic insight into life at Beacon Academy.

Following the Open Day, the Academy hosted a series of popular Open Mornings for Year 6 pupils and their families. These events were supported by the Academy's Year 8 Student Ambassadors, who guided visitors around the school and shared first-hand experiences of student life.

Feedback from families attending both the Open Day and Open Morning Tours was overwhelmingly positive, with visitors praising the welcoming atmosphere, informative presentations and the confidence of the student speakers.

We are incredibly proud of our students, staff and wider school community. The positive feedback we have received following both our Open Day and Open Mornings reflects the welcoming, ambitious and supportive environment we strive to create every day. It was a pleasure to welcome so many families to the Academy and share what makes Beacon such a special place to learn.
