GCSE Examination Results Day 2026

Published 20/08/2026
Students at Beacon Academy are once again celebrating a series of thoroughly deserved individual successes in this year’s GCSE examination results, reflecting their hard work, resilience and commitment.

Headteacher, Keith Slattery, congratulated students on behalf of all staff and trustees:

"Today is a day to celebrate our Year 11 students and everything they have achieved during their time at Beacon Academy. We are incredibly proud of their GCSE results, but even more proud of the young people they have become.

These results reflect years of hard work, determination and perseverance. Every student has their own story and their own journey, and it has been a privilege to see them grow in confidence, develop their talents and overcome challenges along the way. Their achievements today are thoroughly deserved.

Success is never achieved alone. I would like to thank our dedicated staff, supportive families and wider school community for the encouragement, care and guidance they have provided throughout our students' time at Beacon. Together, we have helped our young people to achieve their potential and prepare for the next stage of their lives.

Whether students are joining us in the Sixth Form, moving on to college, apprenticeships or other exciting opportunities, we know they have the skills, knowledge and character to thrive. We are excited to see what the future holds for them and look forward to following their continued success.

To our Year 11 students, congratulations. You should be incredibly proud of everything you have achieved. Thank you for the contribution you have made to our school community and for the way you have represented Beacon Academy.  We wish you every success for the future and encourage you to approach the next chapter with confidence, ambition and belief in yourselves."

As ever, we are delighted to celebrate the achievements of all our students. Particular congratulations go to several individuals who achieved exceptional outcomes across a wide range of subjects.

Lucas Burdon achieved six grade 9s, while Tessa Crook and Jack Draper secured five grade 9s.

Some other notable exceptional performances include Lucas Burdon, Jack Draper, Charlotte Clayforth-Carr, Sebastian Harrison, Conor Whittaker, Owen Johnson, Liene Mackellow, Isobel Kirby, Megan Wiseman, Archie Broderick, Derenz Cajucom, Fleur Mendes, who all achieved grade 7 or above in all of their subjects.

Many students achieved outstanding progress from their individual starting points. We know that success cannot be measured by grades alone, and we are especially proud of those who persevered and overcame challenges to reach their own personal goals.

Congratulations to all of our Year 11 students on their achievements. We are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished.

We look forward to welcoming many of our students into Beacon Academy Sixth Form and supporting them as they continue their Beacon journey. To those moving on to college, apprenticeships and other opportunities, we wish you every success as you begin the next stage of your education and careers.

Sixth Form enrolment meetings will take place on Friday 21 and Monday 24 August. Please contact the Sixth Form Manager, Mrs Hilton, at ahilton@beacon-academy.org with any questions.
