Ten girls from Years 8 took part in an exciting visit to the AMEX Stadium as part of the Open Doors event, organised by East Sussex County Council in collaboration with the Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation (BHAF).

The visit focused on celebrating women in sport and exploring the wide range of careers available within professional football.

The day kicked off with a series of fun and interactive activities.  Students explored possible career aspirations, discussed key employability skills, and discovered the many roles that exist within the sports sector - from coaching and media to physiotherapy and finance.

In the afternoon, students were treated to a tour of the stadium, offering a glimpse into the day-to-day workings of a Premier League club. They visited the press areas, hospitality suites, and changing rooms before getting the chance to walk through the players’ tunnel and onto the pitch.

It was wonderful to see the girl's enthusiasm as they explored the ‘behind-the-scenes’ of the stadium. They saw firsthand how many different people are involved in making match days a success - from the groundskeepers to the media teams. It really opened their eyes to the range of exciting possibilities in sport.”
