Sports Day 2025

Published 15/07/2025

On Monday 14 July, Beacon Academy students came together to celebrate Sports Day 2025 - an annual highlight that embodied our core values and was full of energy, friendly competition, and team spirit!

Despite rescheduling due to weather, the sun shone brightly on the big day, creating perfect conditions for students to showcase their sporting talents.

The morning’s activities provided an inclusive sports experience for all students in Years 7-10, with support from many staff and Sixth Form CTEC Sport students. The students clearly enjoyed participating in their chosen activities, impressing the staff with their enthusiasm, effort and energy. All students had chosen a sport to take part in, ranging from ultimate frisbee, basketball, stoolball, handball, rounders, netball and tag rugby. As in recent years, they were competing to accumulate points for one of five coloured teams, with the aim of being the team with the most points across all year groups.

Those competing in the athletics events that afternoon gave it their all in events including sprinting, high jump, long jumps, shot put, javelin and high-energy relays. Whether students were racing for the finish line, volunteering to help events run smoothly, or simply supporting fellow competitors, the day truly reflected the values of sportsmanship, resilience, and community.

The students excelled, giving some inspirational performances, and showing great teamwork and resilience throughout the day.

The overall winners are as follows:

Team 1st - Green 2nd - Blue 3rd - Red 4th - Yellow 5th - Orange
Overall Points 499 466 422 410 387

Well done to all who participated, and a big thank you to our wonderful staff and students that supported the day’s events and activities.
