Year 13 Prom 2025
Year 13 Beacon Academy students celebrated all they have achieved during the past two years with two special events last week.
On their final day at Sixth Form, the students attended an informal meeting led by Head of Sixth Form, Mr Howarth. Students and staff enjoyed catching up over pizza in the cafeteria, before speeches from Mr Howarth, Head of Years 12 and 13, Mr Hutchison, and the Assistant Head of Years 12 and 13, Mr Williams. The leavers were commended by Mr Howarth on their resilience, commitment and hard work and were reminded that the Sixth Form team would always be there to provide them with support, advice and guidance as they venture into life beyond Beacon.
Student representatives presented members of the Sixth Form team with cards and gifts, thanking them for their exceptional support over the past two years.
The following evening, Year 13 students and Sixth Form staff attended the Year 13 Prom at The East Sussex National Hotel. Students arrived in style, with classic cars delivering some to the hotel. Accompanied by members of the Sixth Form team and Sixth Form teachers, the students enjoyed a two-course meal before dancing the night away.
Beacon Academy Alumni Network
All Year 13 leavers are encouraged to keep in touch by joining our free alumni network!
We always enjoy hearing from former students, celebrating their successes and supporting their work. Have a look at our Alumni page to read student stories from artists, filmmakers, scientists, engineers, geologists and more.
More than ever before, we want to keep in touch and be here for you after you leave, and to provide opportunities for you to build confidence and skills through our alumni network. We will not bombard you, just a few emails a year sharing news, events and opportunities to get involved. It takes two minutes to sign up. Just follow this unique sign up link and make sure that you sign up with your personal email address rather than your Beacon Academy email.
It is now also possible for parents, local employers and supporters of the school to join our network of supporters. If you know anyone that might be interested, please invite them to register FREE at: https://www.futurefirsthub.org.uk/register/beaconacademy.
