The group enjoyed a rich mix of cultural visits and excursions during their five-day trip, all led by French-speaking animateurs. The itinerary provided plenty of opportunities for students to practise their listening, speaking, and comprehension skills in real-life contexts.

Highlights of the trip included a visit to the iconic Mont St-Michel, as well as a memorable final day at the D-Day Wings Museum – a former hangar housing World War II aircraft, including one featured in the film Pearl Harbor. Students even had the chance to sit in the cockpit of a Spitfire or a Cessna.

The weather remained dry and sunny for the most part, allowing the group to enjoy a guided walk across the bay, a lively market visit where they bought local produce, and an afternoon of fun at Parc Festyland.

In their free time, students took full advantage of the excellent sports facilities at the residential centre, particularly enjoying volleyball, boules, water polo in the pool – and for the adventurous, the opportunity to try snails!

A fantastic experience overall – one that helped build confidence in using French while creating lifelong memories.
