School Closure: Friday 26 June 2026
School Closure: Friday 26 June 2026
Following a meeting of our central team this morning, we had planned to reopen the school on Friday 26 June. However, since that decision was made, the weather warning has been escalated to a red alert.
After further checks and risk assessments, we have taken the decision that the school will remain closed on Friday 26 June.
We understand that this may cause disruption for families, and we want to reassure you that this decision has not been taken lightly. The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff, alongside maintaining high-quality learning provision, remain our priorities, and we believe this is the safest course of action.
Learning Arrangements
Work will continue to be set for all students via our usual online platforms. Students are expected to engage with this work as they would during a normal school day.
- Year 10 and Year 12 mock examinations will not take place on Friday and will be rescheduled
- The Year 11 Prom will go ahead as planned this evening
East Sussex National Hotel has confirmed the venue is air-conditioned, and we will ensure there is plenty of water available to keep students hydrated.
Looking Ahead
We will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide further updates if required.
