Honours Evening

Welcome to our 2021 Virtual Honours Evening

This end of year event is a celebration of the outstanding achievements of Beacon Academy students in Years 7 – 10 across all subject areas and recognises their contribution to the enrichment of school life.

As we were unable to hold our Honours Evening in 2020, it is now more important than ever that we acknowledge and celebrate all that our students have achieved during this time – both academically and also as they continue to develop as strong, socially responsible, kind, caring and compassionate members of society.

Honours Evening embodies our school’s core values, to “inspire, believe, achieve and succeed” and is a wonderful celebration to end the school year for students in Years 7 – 10. Although we sadly cannot gather in person in Beeches Main Hall this year, we are delighted to be able to bring this event online for our school community to enjoy.

Six students per year group have been nominated for each award, and two of those students feature as finalists in our pre-recorded awards presentation, either as winner or runner up. Following our virtual Honours Evening, the winners and runners up will be presented with an additional certificate and a trophy.

This year, we are incredibly proud to welcome former Beacon student and Paralympian, Will Bayley MBE, as our special guest speaker for our virtual event. Currently in training for the Tokyo Paralympics this summer, Will Bayley is the Paralympic Class 7 Table Tennis Champion, Paralympic Athlete, Sporting Ambassador and Ability Advocate and as such is a huge source of inspiration for us all.

Congratulations to each and every one of our nominees, runners up and winners! We hope that you will enjoy celebrating all that you have achieved this year.
