Crowborough Library temporarily relocates to Beacon Academy

Beacon Academy is delighted to announce that Crowborough Library will temporarily relocate to the school’s Creative Learning Centre for a short period in autumn 2018.

Pine Grove, the building where Crowborough Library is based is currently undergoing refurbishment by Crowborough Town Council. Building works at Pine Grove began in the summer and are scheduled to continue until December 2018.

While the works are carried out in the library itself, Crowborough Library will temporarily relocate to Beacon Academy’s on-site Creative Learning Centre adjacent to the public footpath, Poundfield Path from Friday 2 November until early January. The Library at Pine Grove will close on Monday 29 October, and the temporary Library at the Beacon Academy Creative Learning Centre is due to open on Friday 2 November. During this short period of renovation, to further ensure the safety and safeguarding of our students, arrangements have been made to accommodate lessons and other Academy activities that would normally take place in the CLC to alternative on-site locations.

Headteacher, Ms Anna Robinson, commented, “We are delighted to be able to work in partnership with Crowborough Library and East Sussex County Council to support this important community facility. In doing so, not only are we helping to ensure the continuation of the usual library services to the local and wider community, but there is exciting potential for enrichment opportunities that will be of benefit to our students with the Library resources so close to hand.”

From the Beacon Academy Creative Learning Centre, Crowborough Library will continue to provide their usual services, including public computers, books, printing, scanning, RhymeTime and IT For You.
