Performing Arts industry professionals to deliver hands-on learning at Creative Arts Day

Beacon Academy Performing Arts Department are pleased to be running Creative Arts Day for the second consecutive year. This exciting enrichment event aims to inspire students in Years 7 and 8 through practical and professional workshops led by industry specialists.

At Beacon Academy we recognise the importance of the Creative Arts – we believe they challenge students to think creatively, solve problems and realise artistic intention, they are good for the soul!

Last year, the day ran as a pilot year and we were able to offer the students some fantastic workshops with Universal Dance, Stage Coach and The BRICTT Theatre School. Due to the success of last year’s Creative Arts Day, this year we have secured some exciting and well known industry professionals such as: Britain’s Got Talent 2017 semi-finalists The London School of Bollywood, Street Styles for All, JK Theatre Arts and back due to high demand, The BRICTT Theatre School.

The workshops on the day will include:

Students in Years 7 and 8 will work all day with their Performing Arts teachers and industry professionals, engaging in tasks which aim to develop resilience, team-work and confidence while re-enforcing the skills they study in class and the Beacon Academy core values: Inspire, Believe, Achieve, and Succeed. Students are permitted to dress in non-uniform that is appropriate for such activities, and are asked to contribute £5 to towards the cost of the event. Please note that payment should be made via ParentPay by Friday 13th July.
