Year 5 Open Mornings
The next opportunity to visit Beacon Academy for an open event, will be in June 2019, for parents and students currently in Year 5. We were delighted to welcome nearly 300 families to our Year 5 Open Mornings in June 2018.
Our visitors enjoyed a tour of the school with our Student Ambassadors to see our teaching and learning in action, followed by a presentation by our Headteacher Anna Robinson and the opportunity to meet with key members of staff.

October Open Events
Our increasingly popular October Open Day offers the chance to explore every aspect of life at Beacon Academy and discover what we can offer your child to ensure they make the best progress possible within our highly aspirational, ambitious, challenging and supportive learning environment. We were delighted to welcome a record number of families to our Open Day for prospective students from all year groups in October 2018.
Visiting families are given the opportunity to:
- Explore the Academy and view our enviable facilities.
- Meet departmental staff and chat to students.
- Attend Headteacher talks outlining our standards, expectations and achievements.
Details of our October 2019 Open Events will be confirmed in Term 5. The format of these events is outlined below:
Students from all year groups and their families are welcome to attend this interactive event. Visitors can take the opportunity to explore the Academy and visit subject departments, meet with teaching and support staff and chat with our current students. Our Headteacher, Ms Anna Robinson along with members of the Senior Leadership Team, key staff, students and parents will give presentations in the Main Hall.
Bookable Open Morning Tours
Guided by our Student Ambassadors, visitors are invited to tour the Academy to see the school in action on a normal day and meet key members of staff. After visiting lesson one parents are invited to attend a presentation from our Headteacher Ms Anna Robinson and have the opportunity to ask any questions, following their visit.
Sixth Form Open Evening
An interactive tour of our Sixth Form Centre at Green Lane and an opportunity to meet with teaching and support staff, followed by a presentation from Assistant Headteacher, Mr Steve Baker and Heads of Years 12 and 13. For further information please visit our Sixth Form Open Evening page.

Following feedback from our prospective parents and students at our Year 5 Open Mornings in June 2018, we would like to invite you to view this presentation as an introduction to our school, and a celebration of some of our 2017/18 news, events and achievements.

Our Year 5 and October Open Morning Tours are always extremely popular. In 2018 we were delighted to have the opportunity to show a record number of families from our local primary schools and those beyond our catchment area what we have to offer. In addition, we continue to attract families across the Kent border, from St Pauls Rusthall, Langton Green, St Marks, The Mead and Bishops Down in Tunbridge Wells.
