Primary to Secondary Admissions - September 2018

The arrangements for the admission of Year 6 children to Beacon are made by East Sussex County Council. The deadline for secondary school applications for September 2018 was 31 October 2017.

A detailed description of these arrangements are contained in the booklet, “Applying for a school” published by East Sussex County Council which is available from early September each year. A copy can be viewed in any East Sussex school or library, viewed/downloaded here or requested from the School Admissions Team, Education Department, PO Box 4, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes, BN7 1SG (Tel 0345 6080192).

East Sussex County Council recommend that applications are completed online and provides free internet access at any East Sussex library. For more information on applying online please contact East Sussex School Admissions.

If you live in Kent the admissions process is slightly different and you have to apply through Kent County Council, please see the information for Kent School Admissions on the Kent County Council website.

East Sussex County Council provides school transport to all families who live more than 3 miles from their nearest qualifying school. If you need help with transport and live in East Sussex please apply here.

In-Year Admissions

For students currently in Years 7 to 11 an application must be made direct to Beacon Academy. Please contact the Admissions Coordinator at Beacon Academy directly either via email or by telephone 01892 603000, extension 524.

Sixth Form Admissions

The arrangements for admissions into Year 12 and 13 must be made direct to Beacon Academy. Please contact the Sixth Form Manager on 01892 603018 or by email.

Amendment to Admissions Policy (reduction in Published Admission Number) for 2016/17

Beacon Community College Academy Trust acts in accordance with the Admissions Code 2012, the School Admission Appeals Code 2012, and other laws relating to admissions and the relevant human rights and equalities legislation.
