Welcome to Beacon Academy

I know that choosing a secondary school is one of the most important decisions you will make for your children and family.

At Beacon Academy the relationships between the staff and students are some of the most phenomenal I have ever seen. Staff have high expectations, are ambitious for the students and they know them well. The rigorous focus on the child as a unique individual ensures that the lessons they receive are personalised and allow them to be actively engaged in their learning. I encourage you to come and see this for yourselves.

Beacon Academy Vision

At Beacon Academy, it is our vision to provide the best possible education for all of our students and to remain an exceptional educational establishment locally, nationally and globally.

  • We provide our students with a broad, knowledge rich curriculum and a coherently planned personal development and enrichment curriculum. Our curriculums have high academic, vocational and technical ambition for all of our students and they are taught within a supportive, challenging and stimulating environment. As a result, our students have numerous opportunities to succeed and develop their academic abilities, alongside their individual character. Subsequently they consistently achieve highly and are prepared for future success and happiness in education, employment or training.
  • We have uncompromisingly high expectations for the quality of education that our students receive - there is no room for complacency. We know our students well as individuals and support and encourage them to be hard working, ambitious, self-motivated, inquisitive, resilient and determined to excel. Manners, acceptance, respect and kindness are the norm and we pride ourselves on the exceptional relationships that exist between our board of trustees, staff, students, parents, carers and the wider community.
  • We recruit, retain and develop exceptional staff and trustees to ensure that all teaching and learning inspires, engages and challenges every student enabling them all to make excellent progress.
  • We have a consistent and relentless focus on sustaining our culture that is highly aspirational and ambitious for excellence in all we do. Our standards are unapologetically high for both staff and students in terms of our personal discipline, expectations, aspirations and ambitions; thus enabling our teachers to teach and our students to learn and excel, at Beacon Academy and beyond.
